ILLUSION DE BOIS is a contemporary interpretation of the historic faux bois tradition of decoration. Created from Xavier Donnelly's expressive acrylic paintings, the design transforms painterly brushwork into an unexpected wood grain in an offset, large-scale rectangular structure. The design uses layered color and texture to evoke the richness of lacquered millwork, featuring a high-gloss finish that enhances the illusion of finely crafted wood panels.
