Why CE Level 2 matters
CE-rated motorcycle armor is impact-tested to a European standard: EN 1621-1 for limb protectors and EN 1621-2 for back protectors. Level 2 armor lets less force through to the body than Level 1, so it is the higher protection rating. How to check the fit before you order
- Open your jacket's armor pockets at the back, shoulders and elbows (usually Velcro or zip openings on the inside).
- Remove the existing pads or foam and measure them, or measure the pockets themselves.
- Compare those numbers with the dimensions above. A pad a little smaller than the pocket is fine; a much larger one will bunch up.
How to install
- Take out the old foam or armor from each pocket.
- Slide in the new pad with the curved side following the shape of your shoulder, elbow or back.
- Close the pocket and put the jacket on to check each pad sits over the joint, not beside it.
