The Hub can run off of the building's power and has a backup battery life of 15 hours in case of an outage. Let's break down how the items in the kit could be installed in a three-bedroom home:
- Hub 2 Plus is connected to power and internet at a central location in the home. The Hub's range to most devices is around 6,500 ft line of sight, which is more than sufficient for most homes.
- MotionCam can be installed anywhere where you want to detect motion during an intrusion. For example, one facing the front entrance, and the other facing the back entrance.
- DoorProtect sensor is installed at the garage door entrance
- Outdoor Motion Cam is installed at the end of the porch or patio facing out into the yard to detect intruders before they reach the patio.
- HomeSiren is placed inside the home on the first floor.
- StreetSiren is placed outdoors on the house or other post in the back yard
- In the Ajax app, all scenarios are set up to tell the sirens when to alert of an intrusion. Typically this is when the system is Armed or in Night Mode.
