This beautiful Brown Russian calf leather is an oak-bark tanned leather and comes from the tannery J&FJ Bakers Tannery in Colyton, UK. As a reproduction of the famous Russian calf leather found in 1977 from the shipwreck of the Metta Catharina in 1850, this russian calf has a hatch grain and carries a fragrant oak-bark scent. The leather is finished with a layer of wax and causes heavy blooming - a layer of white wax appears on the surface. This wax can be brushed or wiped off.
