This basket is truly exquisite and unique. It is a beautiful example of Klickitat huckleberry baskets from the 1800s. The basket is fully imbricated with a stunning geometric design that has an optical illusion element to it. We could spend all day just tracing over line on this basket. The design alone is not the only thing that makes this basket worth adding to your collection though; the inside is stained a deep, rich black from the juice of the berries it held during its working years. These stains are a magical gift from the past, reminding us that the object was used and loved, and that human hands not only made it, but used it for its intended purpose.
