October Birthstone - Opal

Our Ethiopian Opal gemstones are 100% natural and ethically sourced. This listing is for 1 pair of Ethiopian Opal gemstone stud earrings in 14k Gold filled or Sterling Silver settings (with matching butterfly backs)

Each Opal measures 3mm. Due to these being natural stones, each Opal is different to the next, and offer different fire/play of colour (some have blue flashes and others will have more green/yellow) which adds to the uniqueness of your pair.

Ethiopian Opals are "hydrophane"which means if they come in contact with water or moisture over a period of time they will absorb it. They may lose their fire temporarily and become clear or with longer exposure yellow or brown. Don't worry though, the fire and colour will come back once the opals have fully dried. For this reason always remove your jewellery before showering, swimming or sleeping. If needed they can be dipped briefly but never leave opal jewellery in cleaning solution to soak. In most cases though a silver/gold polishing cloth will do the job very well.
