Loctite 242 is a medium strength threadlocker designed to lock and seal threaded fasteners that need to stay tight under vibration, shock, and thermal cycling. It cures in the absence of air between metal surfaces, filling the gaps in the thread grooves so the assembly resists loosening without being permanently locked in place.

Often referred to as blue Loctite 242, this grade is the general-purpose choice for fasteners up to 3/4 inch that may need to come apart again during scheduled maintenance. Parts can be removed with standard hand tools, which makes it a practical default for maintenance crews, equipment builders, and field service technicians who service the same assemblies repeatedly.

Perigee Direct stocks Loctite 242 threadlocker in single-use 0.5ml packets through 10ml, 50ml, and 250ml bottles, with multi-pack options for shops that need single-job doses on hand. Most orders ship same day, and our technical team can help confirm the right grade and size for your application.
