Larger media moves differently in a moving bed. At 12mm wide and 25mm in diameter these cells tumble more slowly and are far less likely to escape through a coarse retaining grid, which matters if you are adapting a chamber that was not built for media in the first place.

Similar to K3 and of excellent quality, Bio Cell is used in Bio Media filtration processes around the world, having been scientifically tested and frequently used in fish farming and waste water treatment for many years. It suits all fluidised moving/static-bed pond and aquarium filters and is ideal for D.I.Y projects and conversions.
