Rapigel is Virbac's menthol and camphor gel for horses and dogs. It is a consistent gel that is not affected by temperature, so it does not run or spill the way a liquid liniment can.
The gel contains menthol and camphor in an isopropyl alcohol base, which gives the cooling sensation Virbac compares to an ice pack. Rapigel is registered for use in horses and dogs only, and Virbac advises that it should not be used outside its registered label claims. The uses below are those Virbac states for it.
Use at full strength. Apply liberally to the affected area and rub in gently, before and after exercise.
Avoid contact with eyes or mucous membranes. Not for use on humans. Rapigel may contain ingredients that contravene prohibited substances rules in racing and competition: check with the relevant authority and your vet before use in a competing animal. Store below 30°C in a cool place with the lid tightly closed. Always read the label before use.
Lameness, swelling or pain that lasts more than a day or two needs a vet check.
