Pudding Clown Isopods for Sale (Armadillidium klugii)

A Clown that ditched the red skirt. Still fabulous.

Our Pudding isopods are morphs of the Montenegro Clown line, but they dropped their reddish skirts somewhere along the way. Like all A. klugii, they're medium-sized and named for their colorful spotted patterns, with most featuring white and yellow spots.

Origin: A. klugii were originally collected in the Balkan regions of Europe, in a country called Montenegro.

HPI Preferred Habitat Targets: 72–78°F; supporting relative humidity around 50–70%; keep roughly one-quarter to one-third of the substrate consistently moist while allowing the remainder to stay progressively drier, with strong ventilation. Maintain a dependable moist retreat for hydration and molting, but avoid uniformly wet conditions. Recommended substrate depth 2-3". Cork bark makes a useful hide.

Diet: As with most isopod species, their main diet should be lots of leaf litter, decaying wood and a calcium supply. Supplement with organic fresh veggies & protein. Clowns might appreciate a higher proportion of supplemental protein and calcium in their diets. (We like to eat soft plants.)

Reproduction: Often slow to reproduce in new cultures. They do tend to produce more at warmer temperatures.
