After a failed attempt to reach to highest point of Sweden, looking across the deep gorge to the steep cliffs and beyond. 

Just 72 hours before this, I had been scrambling to clear the last bits of work in the office before heading halfway across the world for my first solo multi-day hike. My young and naïve self thought I was fairly well prepared, but nothing could be further from the truth. Just 2 days into the hike and I was caught up in a snowstorm on an isolated mountain top, trudging through waist deep snow and nearly making wrong turns too many times. I was overwhelmed to finally see people again and asked to be able to follow them down the peak back to the valley. Soon after, the weather eased. The view through the mountains was breathtaking. It also became much clearer how close I was to disaster if I had made a few more poor decisions. Definitely more to learn and prepare for in future hikes. More on that (mis)adventure here.
