Now for the meet-cute couple backstory.

They met on the very first day of school.

She was a new ninth grader, unfamiliar with the campus and still finding her way. He was a confident tenth grader who exactly where he was going, and apparently, who he wanted to meet. 

He let her go in front of him in the lunch line on that first day back to school. He joked with her about the food, offered advice on which lunch lady to sugar talk for extra scoops, and then confidently asked her to sit with him.

He kept the conversation going, asking her questions and finding every excuse to keep her close. When she mentioned she loved chess, he immediately suggested they join the chess club together. 

He, in fact, hated chess, but knew she was the one for him.

She fell in love with his eyes at first, but when he asked her to prom a few months later, she knew he was the only one she ever wanted to dance with for the rest of her life. 

He said he knew she was the one the moment he laid eyes on her. He was simply patiently waiting until she caught up with him.
