The meaning
The front asks two things at once. Use your smile to change the world: kindness spreads, one person at a time. And don't let the world change your smile: stay yourself, even when the day tries to grind it out of you.
The back is simple advice for big decisions and small ones: whatever you decide to do, make sure it makes you happy.
The design
The front shows a simple smiling face at the center, with the two lines running around it. Turn the coin upside down and the smile becomes a frown, a small reminder that which way you face the day is up to you. One customer noticed it right away. The back sets the quote inside a border of small points, like rays.
On good days and hard days
- On good days, it reminds you to share your smile and spread a little kindness.
- On hard days, when the world tries to wear you down, it says: don't let it change your smile. Whatever you decide to do, make sure it makes you happy.
Carry it
It is a pocket pick me up for long shifts and bad news days. One customer wrote that we have no control over the storms, only over how we get through them, and this coin helps them choose.
Give it
Customers give it to sisters, friends and nephews for birthdays; one has given it to many friends before finally getting one for themselves. It is a lovely thank you for a nurse, a teacher or a caregiver, the people whose smile does the most work.
