Front: “Trust No One” · “Homo homini lupus est” (man is a wolf to man)
Back: “Fear no one, respect everyone”
Homo homini lupus est means man is a wolf to man. The Roman playwright Plautus wrote it first, and the English philosopher Thomas Hobbes made it famous: left to themselves, people can be dangerous to each other. The front pairs it with trust no one.
Don't read it as cold. The back finishes the thought: fear no one, respect everyone. Be careful with your trust, be fair to everybody, and back down from no one.
The design plays on the old one dollar bill. Where the bill says in God we trust, this front says trust no one, with the eye above the pyramid and NO ONE in big ornate letters. The back puts a large 1 inside a shield, with light radiating out behind it.
One customer keeps it on them every day. Another has bought several copper ones because they like having trust no one on one side and fear no one on the other, their kind of everyday carry.
It is a gift with an edge for the friend who has your back and tells it like it is: a bouncer, a cop, a soldier, a salesperson who has heard every line. Customers also like to carry one and show it off.

Is the Badass Coin about not trusting anyone?
It is about being careful with your trust. The back balances it: fear no one, respect everyone.
Who is the Badass Coin for?
People who learned the hard way to protect themselves and still treat others fairly: security, first responders, salespeople, and friends with a strong personal code.
For keys: Badass Key Tag.
