The Avery EZ-Bird Mallard is the one most retriever trainers start with. An anatomically correct body and lifelike paint scheme give your dog a dummy that resembles the bird it will actually be picking up, and the full-size mallard profile teaches a proper carry on a big bird.

Why it works

• Soft floating head protects teeth on hard pickups and keeps the bird riding high on water retrieves.
• Puncture-proof PVC outer skin holds up to hard mouths and season after season of drills.
• LongThrow knob for accurate long marks without a launcher.
• Double-knotted slip-proof rope so your grip holds on the throw.
• Anatomically correct body and realistic paint to keep dogs engaged instead of complacent on the same old bumper.

Good for

Offseason yard work, water retrieves, and long marks, then keeping your dog sharp between duck hunts. Part of the EZ-Bird lineup, which comes in eight species models so you can rotate birds as your dog progresses.
