Worm Bedding with Coco Coir

Create the Ideal Environment for Your Worms

Coconut coir is an excellent bedding material for worms, fostering an environment that's neither too dry nor too damp. Here's how it benefits your worm farm:

Comfortable Burrowing: Worms thrive in coir, making it the ideal substrate for them to burrow and process food scraps efficiently.
Natural and Chemical-Free: Coir is a natural choice, free from chemicals that might affect your worms or the quality of the castings they produce.

How to Use Coco Coir for Worm Bedding

Prepare the Coir: Soak the Coir brick in water, squeezing out the excess moisture, and leaving it damp like a sponge.
Fill Your Worm Bin: Fill your worm composting bin three-fourths full with coir or a blend of coir and shredded paper or cardboard.
Add Soil: Sprinkle a handful of soil into the coir. The gritty texture aids in the worms' digestive process.
Introduce Your Worms: Place your worms on top of the coir and allow them to settle in for a few days.
Maintain the Environment: Place a piece of damp cardboard or paper on top of the bedding after adding worms to create an ideal moisture balance.
