If you're working with roses, berry bushes, cacti, citrus, or any prickly shrubs and need serious protection from thorns and punctures, these full-length leather gauntlet gloves from Fir Tree Gloves are built for that exact purpose. The palms and fingers are made from soft, supple goatskin leather, which gardeners have relied upon for decades as one of the most puncture resistant natural materials available. Unlike cotton or synthetic gloves, goatskin is naturally breathable, which means your hands stay cooler and less sweaty during extended pruning or planting sessions. These glove work well for pruning rose, bushes, harvesting blackberries or raspberries, handling cactus or succulent transplants, trimming citrus branches and clearing brush or invasive plants. The long gauntlet sleeves extend to the elbow and are made from cowhide suede, giving you forearm protection that's especially useful when reaching into dense brambles or avoiding poison ivy and other irritating plants. The extended cuff also keeps dirt and debris from sliding down into the glove while you're digging or mulching. The goatskin provides a natural, flexible grip that conforms to your hand over time, making it easier to hold tools, stems or branches securely without the stiffness you'd get from heavier cowhide work gloves. Starting at $22.99, these gloves are washable, and Fir Tree includes care instructions so you can clean them after muddy or sap-heavy jobs. They come packaged in a reusable cloth storage bag, which keeps them in good shape between seasons and makes them a practical gift for anyone who gardens seriously or does outdoor landscaping work.
