The gold foil line sits just inside the edge and follows every scallop, the way a hem follows the edge of a tablecloth. Inside it is a multicolor gingham check in red, burgundy, pink, blue, and 2 greens on a cream ground. Each square paper plate is 9" x 9", 8 to a pack, sized for Christmas lunch or as a base under a smaller dessert plate. The pink and blue in the check mean the same pack can come back out for a birthday or a picnic in June. Square plates line up neatly down a long table, and one pack sets a 6 ft table at 4 to a side.
