The curved spring bars is a life saver when it comes to tight case to lug spaces for watches. Other than watches that were designed to accomodate curved lug ends, the curved spring bars are great solutions for:

1. Tight watch case to sprng bar spaces - because it creates more space and prevents watch cases from 'chewing' strap lug ends
2. Odd lug widths eg. 17.5mm - because the curved profile reduces the width by about 0.5mm. 
   
3. In 17.5mm case, using 18mm curved spring bars and pressing the 18mm lug end strap to curve will fit into the 17.5mm width
