The wand is the part of a box extractor you actually hold for hours. NaceCare makes three, and the right one depends on your machine and your work. Choose yours above.

The 3-jet stainless wand is the everyday workhorse, the premium 2-jet wand is the upgrade for crews who extract all day, and the single-jet wand with squeegee is made for the compact AVB 4X and the TP 4X spotter.

All three connect to the end of the solution and vacuum hose with quick-connect fittings, and a trigger on the handle controls the spray.

• 3-Jet Stainless Wand (12300PE). The standard wand on the TP 8X and TP 18SX. Three jets give a wide, even spray for general carpet work. Buy it as a replacement or a second wand for a two-person crew.

• Premium 2-Jet Wand (8020070). NaceCare's upgrade wand, also sold as an option on the TP 18SX page. A good choice if you extract every day and want the better wand in your hands.

• Single-Jet Wand with Squeegee (12270MPE). The wand NaceCare lists for the compact AVB 4X, with a squeegee for hard floor pickup. It also turns the TP 4X portable spotter into a small floor cleaner, and the TP 4X page sells the two together.

Pull the wand toward you on the spray stroke, then make a dry pass without spraying to pick up more water. Overlap your strokes by a few inches. Clogged jets are the most common reason for streaks, so pull and rinse the jets whenever the spray looks uneven.
