Bring art and a sense of the natural world to your everyday notes with the Is a River Alive? memo book set from Field Notes. Released as the 67th Quarterly Edition for summer 2025, this three-pack coincides with the American publication of Robert Macfarlane’s book exploring Earth’s rivers and the people fighting for them.

Textured, embossed covers showcase Donwood’s artwork with layered varnish finishes that add a tactile dimension. Two memo books reproduce the U.S. and U.K. hardcover designs, while the third features the linocut behind the artwork. Inside each book, 48 pages with a “Cloud Forest Gray” graph grid offer room for observations, sketches, and everyday plans.
