About the Stone
The moving band of light in Tiger Eye — chatoyancy, from the French for cat's eye — comes from parallel fibers replaced by silica while keeping their structure. Its golden brown is oxidized iron; unoxidized it stays blue-grey, and that is Hawk's Eye.
Wearing & Care
Sterling silver tarnishes slowly in air; a silver polishing cloth keeps it bright. Put it on last, after perfume and lotion, and take it off for showers, swimming and sleep. Long hours in strong sun can dull the golden band over time; keep it out of the window when it is not with you.
