Moqui Marble: a natural iron-oxide concretion, round and rust-brown, formed inside desert sandstone.
Moqui marbles form when iron-rich minerals gather around a core inside sandstone and harden into a shell of iron oxide, usually over sand. Erosion frees them, and they are found loose on the desert floor. They are often kept in pairs and carried or held during meditation; in modern practice they are known as grounding, balancing stones.
Keep it dry: water can rust the iron shell. Wipe it with a dry cloth and cleanse it with sage or moonlight.
Every Moqui marble is natural, so size, shape and texture vary. You will receive one, selected for you from our stock.
