The simple glaze on this chawan tea bowl is the perfect canvas for Hagi yaki's nanabake process. Over time, the tea and matcha made in the vessel will seek into the porous clay, changing the colour of the bowl slightly. A process that makes each piece entirely unique to its user.

The dimples on each bowl create an effortless grip in your hand. While originally intended for matcha, this bowl is perfect for tea, coffee, or a range of other beverages of your choice.

Hagi yaki is highly regarded in Japan as a premium choice of teaware. The porous nature of Hagi yaki allows the matcha tea to absorb into the clay, seasoning the vessel for fuller flavour in subsequent brews. This process can also change the colour of the vessel over time, developing a unique bond with its user. After you buy a piece, you still have a lot to look forward to.
