WHAT WE LOVE:

The Seiko 6105-8110 carries a specific pop-culture provenance that has become inseparable from the watch itself. In Francis Ford Coppola's Apocalypse Now (1979), Martin Sheen's Captain Willard wears a 6105-8110 throughout the film. Coppola's prop department chose a watch that was actually in service during the Vietnam War era, and the 6105 was precisely that: a watch favoured by military personnel in the region during the late 1960s and early 1970s for exactly the practical reasons that made it the right choice for the character. Since the film's release, the 6105 has been known in collector parlance as the "Willard" — and that association, built over more than four decades of reference, is now fully embedded in the watch's identity.

The 6105-8110 is a genuinely significant design — the pillow-shaped case is rounded, without conventional straight lugs, sloping inward toward the flat caseback. The ceramic-look dot-graduated unidirectional bezel, the square luminous box markers, the broad luminous hands, and the "Water 150m Resist" / Seiko S-logo-signed dial are all original in condition. On the black rubber strap this is one of the most visually and historically compelling vintage Japanese dive watches in existence.
