The original Advisor debuted in 1957 with a 34mm case and a mechanical alarm that was genuinely novel for a Swiss wristwatch at the time. Tudor revived the concept in 2011 as the Heritage Advisor, scaling the case to a contemporary 42mm and pairing a standard ETA 2892 automatic base movement with a bespoke mechanical alarm module developed entirely in-house by Tudor — making the complication architecture a genuine two-movement assembly in a single case. The alarm module that Tudor engineered is not a simple adaptation; it is a fully independent mechanical system with its own power source (wound via the "ADVISOR"-engraved crown at 2 o'clock), its own escapement, and a striker that produces a clear, even mechanical sound without electronic assistance.

The cognac-dialled 79620TC is the variant that most collectors agree best suits the watch's character. The rich warm brown of the dial — correctly described as cognac rather than chocolate, with a sunray finish that shifts between amber and deep umber under different light — is complemented by the mixed steel and titanium case construction that keeps the 42mm watch noticeably lighter than an all-steel equivalent. The pointer-style date display at 6 o'clock, the alarm power reserve sector at 3 o'clock, and the ON/OFF indicator visible at 9 o'clock in the photograph are all elements of a dial that rewards close examination. Two crowns and a pusher at 8 o'clock for alarm activation complete the operational picture.
