Mary Blair's Winter Sleigh Ride is part of a line of paint‑by‑number kits created in collaboration with the Estate of legendary mid‑century artist Mary Blair (1911–1978). Known for her imaginative style, bold color pairings, and whimsical illustrations, Mary Blair was one of Walt Disney’s most beloved concept artists in the 1940s–60s. Beyond Disney, she built a prolific career as an illustrator, creating designs that remain iconic today.
Originally designed for the American Artists Group greeting card company in the mid 1950s, this charming horizontal illustration depicts a cozy bundled couple in the carriage of a stylized sleigh being pulled past a quaint church building by pink and red reindeer with similarly amorous expressions. Snowy foliage decorates the pre-printed background. Now reimagined as a 12‑color acrylic paint‑by‑number kit, it offers 8-10 hours of relaxing creativity. When complete, frame your finished artwork for unique mid‑century modern wall art or a meaningful gift.
This paint‑by‑number kit is recommended for teens and adults age 13+. Whether you’re a Mary Blair fan, a Disney art collector, or simply looking for a joyful DIY art kit, Mary’s Winter Sleigh brings a piece of design history into your home.
