Acrylic Polymer On Canvas
30 x 25 cm, three canvases
'Prime Position' brings the familiar curves of a racetrack into the sky, spread across a triptych of three canvases, each carrying a winding black track and a tiny Formula 1 car. The cars appear in primary red, blue and yellow, their small scale almost disappearing within the bold, sweeping fields of blue.
The title plays on the idea of being in the best possible position, whether fighting for a place on the starting grid or pushing ahead of the competition. By lifting the racetrack into the sky, the work connects the speed and ambition of racing with the pursuit of getting ahead and staying on top.
