Abel Mini ReWood Colour Curved Building Blocks - 12, 24, 36 & 72 Pieces

The Abel Mini ReWood Colour Blocks are colourful curved building blocks made from 80% reclaimed wood waste, available at Babipur in sets of 12, 24, 36 or 72 pieces. Each block has Abel's distinctive 60° curve, giving children a completely different shape to build and create with. Six Mini blocks make a complete circle, but that same simple curve can become an arch, roof, bridge, tunnel, road, wall or part of a much bigger construction.

Use them upright for building and balancing, or lay them flat to create circles, flowers, spirals, pictures, mandalas and repeating patterns. Their curved shape brings something very different to a collection of traditional straight-sided blocks and opens up new possibilities for ball runs, buildings, landscapes and small-world play.

Which size should I choose?

  • 12 Pieces A lovely introduction to Abel Minis or a useful addition to an existing block collection. Twelve pieces give you two complete circles, small patterns, simple constructions and enough curved shapes to start experimenting with other blocks and toys.
  • 24 Piece A really versatile set for everyday play. With four complete circles, there are enough pieces for bigger patterns, roads, towers, ball runs and more involved builds while still being a compact set to keep close at hand.
  • 36 Piece More room to explore larger structures, detailed flat designs and builds using several ideas at once. A great size for children who already enjoy construction, loose parts and combining different open-ended toys.
  • 72 Pieces For big ideas. With enough pieces for twelve complete circles, this set gives children much more freedom for large constructions, long ball runs, elaborate patterns, floor designs and shared building with siblings or friends.

One of the things we love about Abel Blocks is how well they work with other toys. Add them to traditional wooden blocks to introduce curves, use them with wooden balls to create channels and ball runs, or combine them with figures, animals, vehicles and small loose parts. A few curves can become an animal enclosure, a bed for a peg doll, a winding road, a bridge, part of a house or the starting point for something completely unexpected.

They are just as useful for flat play. Use the blocks as outlines for loose parts, arrange them into flowers and geometric patterns, create pictures or experiment with symmetry and colour. Abel themselves highlight mandalas, marble runs and castles as some of the many ways Mini Blocks can be used.

And the more pieces children have, the more ambitious the play can become. Early play might be sorting colours, arranging a circle or balancing a few blocks. Later the same pieces can become part of increasingly complicated buildings, ball runs, small worlds and engineering-style challenges. The unusual centre of gravity of a curved block also adds an interesting balancing challenge, encouraging children to turn pieces, try again and find their own solutions.

The Colour Blocks are made using Abel's ReWood material, composed of 80% reclaimed wood waste and 20% natural and recycled binding material. ReWood has a pleasing weight and tactile feel, is suitable for both indoor and outdoor play, and makes use of wood waste rather than newly felled timber for the majority of the material.

Each Mini measures approximately 12.5 x 2.4cm, a really useful size for combining with other building toys and loose parts.

Suitable from 3 years+.
