For years people have asked me to do a precut quilt kit for a Christmas tree skirt and it's finally here!
And it's not anywhere near as complicated at you might think.
First you make the quilt. It's not very big, it's all square, you just make it like you're making any normal quilt. The pattern of the blocks is so very fun because it is so simple to put together but looks harder than it is. Next you make your quilt sandwich and quilt it together with the backing, all while it's still square. After the quilting is done you take a string from the center and mark your outer circle, then cut it into this pretty round shape. The last step is to add the binding. We have added precut, pre-ironed, and pre-folded bias binding which means it goes around that circle flawlessly. The inner circle takes a bit more finesse to get it to lay right but don't you worry. We are doing a live sewing event for the binding in November.
Finished dimensions: approximately 56" diameter
