Airbotx 440X is a portable UV-C air scrubber that uses hydroxyl radicals and other oxidants to act on odors and VOCs. It combines odor treatment with particulate filtration and air circulation for facility managers, restoration contractors and janitorial businesses.
Each lamp uses two UV-C wavelengths. The 185 nm section creates ozone, while the 254 nm section breaks it down to produce hydroxyl radicals and other oxidants. These act on odors and VOCs in the air and on adsorbed surfaces.
Typical jobs include disaster and property restoration after smoke, fire, sewage or water loss, plus tobacco, marijuana, pet, crime-scene and biohazard odors. Facilities include schools and universities, senior living, hospitality, office buildings, and hospitals and medical facilities. The operating limits below apply in every setting.
The machine produces ozone. The 254 nm section destroys most of it, but a small residual amount can be released. Ozone-sensitive people, including those with respiratory conditions, children and elderly people, and pets should not be exposed. Do not run the unit in occupied spaces unless ozone is continuously monitored with appropriate sensors. Operators must follow state and local ozone rules.
The vendor recommends coverage of 1,000–2,000 sq ft with four lamps, 750–1,500 with three, 500–1,250 with two and 250–1,000 with one. Do not operate in occupied areas under 500, 375, 250 or 125 sq ft, respectively. Coverage assumes ceilings at least 9 ft high. Only qualified, trained technicians should operate the unit.
