The Method Seven Aviatrix SKY9 combines a lightweight titanium aviator frame with dark blue mineral glass lenses engineered for intense sunlight. With just 9% visible light transmission (VLT), SKY9 provides substantial light reduction for pilots flying beneath bright bubble canopies, toward the sun, or in demanding high glare conditions. Developed by M7 Labs in Santa Cruz, California, SKY lens technology uses proprietary notch filtering to balance colors, enhance contrast, and make details in clouds, terrain, and flight instruments easier to distinguish. Rather than simply darkening the view, SKY9 selectively filters portions of visible light to maintain useful contrast. The blue mineral glass lenses provide excellent optical clarity, scratch resistance, full UV protection, and infrared filtering to reduce unwanted heat. A blue flash mirror finish and anti reflective coating help control harsh sunlight and distracting reflections. Nonpolarized optics help pilots read glass cockpit displays, GPS units, and tablets without polarization interference or distracting patterns in aircraft windows. Developed with input from women pilots, the Aviatrix features a softly rounded aviator silhouette, brushed gold titanium frame, and smaller, narrower proportions suitable for pilots of any gender. The hand-tooled frame weighs 26.5 grams with SKY glass lenses. Slim, low profile temples fit comfortably beneath aviation headsets and flight helmets, helping maintain headset ear seals and noise attenuation while minimizing audio leakage, pinching, and pressure during long flights. Tangle free nose pads help prevent hair from snagging when sunglasses are pushed onto the head. Their reversible design offers two thicknesses for small adjustments to the fit across the nose bridge. The serial numbered frame features drop ball tested lenses and a 6 base decentered lens curve. Frame measurements: 57-15-140 mm; lens height: 40 mm. Includes a microfiber cleaning pouch and protective hard case that folds flat for storage in a flight bag or headset case.
