This detailed bust portrays William, Duke of Normandy, a descendant of Viking raiders who orchestrated the Norman conquest of England in 1066, becoming the first Norman monarch.

His significant contributions include extensive castle construction—notably the Tower of London's keep—and commissioning the landmark Domesday Book land survey in 1086.

Meticulously crafted from historical references including period illustrations and tapestries, this striking sculptural piece features historically significant elements around its base: naval vessels, equestrian figures from the Bayeux Tapestry, Dover Castle, and an authentic Norman shield, creating a comprehensive representation of this pivotal historical figure.
