This meticulously crafted bust honors Pádraig Pearse, the multifaceted intellectual and revolutionary whose name is forever associated with the 1916 Easter Rising.

The sculpture captures the essence of this teacher, barrister, poet, and writer who became a pivotal figure in Ireland's struggle for independence. The ornate base features historically significant scenes: Pearse addressing crowds before the General Post Office, Nelson's Pillar, the momentous posting of the Irish Proclamation, a revolver symbolizing armed resistance, the Irish harp representing cultural identity, and Éamon de Valera following surrender.

This piece commemorates one of the executed signatories of the Proclamation whose sacrifice at Kilmainham Gaol helped forge the path to Irish freedom.
