This meticulously crafted bust commemorates Charles Darwin, the revolutionary biologist whose 1859 publication "The Origin of Species" introduced the theory of Natural Selection, fundamentally challenging established views on life's origins.

Sculpted after the Spencer Arnold portrait, this detailed representation features a base adorned with symbolic elements of Darwin's work: the evolution of man, Galapagos wildlife including giant tortoises and iguanas, along with his essential tools—magnifying glass, notebooks—and the HMS Beagle that facilitated his groundbreaking discoveries.
