Our seventh studio album, self-produced in Greenville and the truest picture on record of how this band sounds in a room. The eleven songs run from the surf-driven "Cold Blooded" through the bossa-leaning "Hypocrite" to "Julia," a true Edisto Island ghost story that gave the album its name. Maddy Hendrix's flute — the band's second lead voice — meets the violin at the front of several songs, and behind them plays a quiet menagerie of harmonium, accordion, sampler, and other instruments hired for exactly one song each. Pressed on twelve-inch vinyl and moderately haunted, as is tradition.
